Pre-Planning
Step 1: Set Your Goals How many passengers are you desiring to recruit?
Step 2: Begin Early You can never begin to promote a travel program too early. Those who
are most successful begin a year in advance. You should begin at least 7 months before departure.
Step 3: Make a List of Prospects This list should be composed of friends, relatives, associates, church
members, etc. Your spouse, secretary or others should help you with this list. Keep adding to it as you receive referrals from these prospects you contact.

Step 4: Personal Contact You should personally contact those prospects who are within easy
reach. Remember to extend an invitation to at least two new prospects every day. Ask for a deposit!
Step 5: Use the Telephone You will want to call those prospects who live out of town. Letters
alone will not do the job. A telephone call is best if you cannot personally see these people. Ask those who become tour members to help secure others.
Step 6: Be Sure to Explain to your prospects the Value and Blessings of Making Such A Journey Remember to mention fellowship, spiritual enrichment, education,
adventure, religion and new understanding of the history and geography of the area you are visiting. Assure them of your personal care and concern. This is fundamental and important.
Step 7: Emphasize the Quality Emphasize to prospects that this is a First Class Tour with fine
hotels, modern and well-kept buses, excellent food, and well-trained guides.
Step 8: Emphasize the Low Price of the Total Program The total cost of the tour might not be much more than the
airfare. Challenge your prospects to compare and they will see the economic value of the program.
Step 9: Additional Savings for Passengers Remember to urge your prospects to take advantage of the
Early Discount and Early Full Payment Incentives to reduce the cost of their already low tour price! Ask for a deposit! (SEE YOUR BROCHURE FOR THE PARTICULAR INCENTIVES OFFERED.)
Step 10: Be Positive Remember that an Optimistic, Enthusiastic and Positive Attitude is
Essential
To Be Successful in Promotion. You must tell the story. The more frequently you tell it, the more successful you will be. Nothing can take the place of your personal interest in an individual and a family. A personal invitation to join you and your friends on this journey and adventure is very important.

Networking
Step 11: Enroll Friends and also Families -- Urge Couples to go -- Find a Roommate.
Step 12: Ask other Ministers, Priests, and Friends to Help Promote the Travel Program.
Step 13: Inspire Organizations to Send Worthy Members as Recognition for Their Service.

Advertising
Step 14: Use Media For Promotion Use your church bulletin, association newsletter, company or
church bulletin board, and announcements from the pulpit. Remember: It is important to repeat both bulletin and oral announcements because it takes at least six repetitions for people
to remember.
Step 15: Posters Posters are available for you to personalize with your name and dates.
Prominently displaying these posters will keep your tour before your church prospects on a constant basis.
Step 16: Local Newspapers Often Print News Releases To ensure newspapers will use your news release, follow these rules:
1. Type your story. 2. Double space and use only one side of the paper. 3. Make sure your story is brief and gives a concise presentation of facts.
4. Remember to include your name and address for inquiries. 5. Take the news release to your local newspaper in person.
Step 17: Optional Advertisement You may want to run an advertisement in your local newspaper.
Interview any responders to make sure they understand the Christian nature of your group.
Step 18: Tour Parties Plan for groups of people to be invited to your home for an informal
tea/coffee and dessert. Encourage them to travel. Review the itinerary and all the tour's advantages. Ask for their deposits while at the meeting!
Step 19: Use Videos that can be Obtained Through the Government Tourist Office.
