Day 3 - Ketchikan, Alaska

Known as the “Gateway to Alaska,” Ketchikan follows along the steep sloping shores of Tongass Narrows. Explore Creek Street, a historic boardwalk built on pilings over the water, and immerse yourself in history and Indian culture at the Tongass Historical Museum, Totem Bight State Park and Saxman Village. Consider an optional flightseeing trip to breathtaking Misty Fjords National Monument.

Day 4 - Tracy Arm Fjord Cruise & Juneau, Alaska

Nestled between 3,000-foot high granite walls, the Tracy Arm Fjord weaves through the Tongass National Forest for roughly 35 miles. The shoreline is spotted with waterfalls created by melting snowcaps and trees sprouting at odd angles from rocky outcroppings. You might even catch a glimpse of a few native animals as you cruise by.

Juneau, the capital of Alaska, was founded during a gold rush in 1880. Today, the former gold-mining town counts among its riches some of Alaska's most spectacular scenery. Nestled at the foot of Mt. Juneau in the Alaska Panhandle, the city faces the water from the mainland side of Gastineau Channel. Several magnificent fjords are located along the channel coast, and the majestic Mendenhall Glacier is nearby. Take a Whale-Watching cruise from Juneau to see the summer feeding grounds for humpback whales.

Day 5 - Skagway, Alaska & Inside Passage Cruise

During the 1898 Gold Rush to the Yukon, thousands of gold seekers disembarked ships at the new boomtown of Skagway to begin the 600-mile trek to the goldfields. Many Skagway businesses erected elaborate 2-story false fronts on their buildings, hoping the impression of being more stable and prosperous would entice more customers. You can see many of these restored buildings in Skagway’s Historic District. While in Skagway there are many fun activities like hiking, zip lining and rafting. You can also ride an authentic steam train through the White Pass to Fraser Meadows and back to Skagway, passing mountains, gorges, trestles and tunnels. This evening you will cruise through the scenic Inside Passage, a complex labyrinth of fjords and bays where whales and sea lions travel to during the summer months.

Enjoy a Chinese Lantern lit walk through Butchart Gardens, explore the lavish lifestyle of the old industrialists at Craigdarroch Castle, take a Horse-drawn Trolley on a romantic journey through Victoria or take a Whale-Watching cruise and search for swimming Orcas, Porpoises, Elephant Seals and soaring Bald Eagles.
