Day 2 - Tuesday - Oct. 9
Today you will arrive in Tel Aviv. Your tour guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your deluxe hotel in Jerusalem, where you’ll enjoy a fantastic dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - Wednesday - Oct. 10
Today’s touring begins by standing on the Temple Mount, which was once the site of the Temple of Solomon, now home to the Dome of the Rock. View the Pools of Bethesda (John 5) where Jesus performed the Sabbath day miracle. Continue on to Mt. Zion to visit the House of the High Priest Caiaphas, where some say Jesus was questioned on the night of His betrayal (Matt 26). View the traditional site of the Tomb of King David before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 - Thursday - Oct. 11
Learn about the Jerusalem of Jesus’ day with a look at the First Century Model City of Jerusalem, now housed at the Israel Museum. The museum itself contains 10,000 yrs of archeological artifacts, as well as the Shrine of the Book exhibit that displays the Dead Sea Scroll containing the book of Isaiah. Explore the poignant exhibits of Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial. Enjoy your lunch before heading on to the see the archaeological study being done at Emek Tzurim, where excavations from under the Temple Mount are being studied.
Day 5 - Friday - Oct. 12
Today you will stand on the Mt. of Olives, where you will have a remarkable view of the “Golden City” of Jerusalem. This is the last place Jesus stood before ascending into heaven. Take a moment to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane, where trees have been dated back over 2,000 years. Consider the idea that those trees witnessed the blood‐sweat and betrayal of our Lord. Pause at the Crusader Church that is thought to mark the Tomb of Mary at the base of the Mt. of Olives. End your day of touring by spending time at the Garden Tomb and Gordon’s Calvary. Consider the pain and suﬀering of the cross with Holy Communion at this traditional site.
Day 6 - Saturday - Oct. 13
This morning, go through the Dung Gate, walk a section of the Old City Wall Ramparts ﬁnding a beautiful elevated view of the city. Exit through the Jaﬀa gate before visiting the Jewish quarter and enjoying lunch in the Armenian quarter of Jerusalem. After lunch, reﬂect on Christ’s sacriﬁcial love during your visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Built over the traditional sites of the cruciﬁxion and burial of Jesus, the church operates under both Catholic and Orthodox supervision. Visit the Christ Church Museum exploring the history and impact of the Protestant movement in the Holy Land, then wander through the excavations of the City of David and journey through time to see the Pool of Siloam. Day 7 - Sunday - Oct. 14
Begin your journey towards Tiberias today. As you stop in Jericho, view the ruins of the city conquered by Joshua (Joshua 6) and in the distance see the traditional site of the temptation of Jesus (Matt 4). Follow the Good Samaritan Road through the Jordan River Valley on your journey north. Stop in to visit the Balm of Gilead farm –enjoying the aroma and wonder of the incredible Balm of Gilead. Remember your baptism at the Yardenit Baptismal site, where the Jordan River exits the Sea of Galilee before checking in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 - Monday - Oct. 15
Travel to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee. Visit the synagogue that stands on the site where Jesus taught. Visit the peaceful Mt. of Beatitudes that overlooks the Sea of Galilee. On this hill, Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. (Matt 5‐7) Enjoy a “St. Peters Fish Lunch” before boarding your boat for a unique time of worship and reﬂection on the Sea of Galilee. Finish your day of touring today by visiting the Ancient Boat Museum, where you will see a boat that dates back to the time of Jesus.
Day 9 - Tuesday - Oct. 16
Visit the Northern territory of Israel today, seeing the ancient remains of Tel Dan and the altar built by King Jeroboam (I Kings 12). Visit Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus traveled with his disciples and where nearby Peter made his great confession to Jesus, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matt 16). Travel through Golan Heights and gain a better understanding of their strategic importance to the security of Israel.
Day 10 - Wednesday - Oct. 17
Today you will journey to the top of Mt. Carmel, where Elijah the prophet prayed ﬁre down from heaven and defeated the prophets of Baal (I Kings 18). Travel the ancient caravan route to Tel Megiddo, an exciting archeological dig with its layers of 20 diﬀerent cities built on top of each other. Drive through Biblical Joppa, now the port city of Jaﬀa en route to Caesarea Maritima. Here you will wander through the Roman aqueduct and theater, a center of early Christianity. Here, Cornelius became the ﬁrst Gentile convert to the new covenant (Acts 10) and Paul was imprisoned before being taken to Rome (Acts 23). Enjoy dinner and overnight in the Tel Aviv Area.
Day 11 - Thursday - Oct. 18
Begin your journey home from Tel Aviv to the USA with a deeper understanding of the Holy Land and memories to cherish for a lifetime.
