Daily Itinerary

Your journey begins when you depart the USA on your overnight international flight.

Welcome to the Holy Land! Upon arrival at the Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your Tel Aviv area hotel for dinner and a good night’s rest.

Day 3 - SEA TO SEA

Today your touring begins along the shores of the Mediterranean at Caesarea Maritima. This port city of Herod the Great is where Cornelius became the first gentile convert to the new covenant and is also where Paul imprisoned before being taken to Rome for trial. Explore the extensive ruins including the Roman aqueduct and theater. Next, stand atop Mount Carmel, where Elijah defeated the prophets of ba’al. Travel the ancient caravan route to Tel Megiddo, an exciting archeological dig with its layers of twenty different cities built on top of each other, looking out over the Plains of Armageddon. Pass through Cana, where Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding feast. Next, look out over Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus from the Mount of Precipice. Continue to Tiberias, a coastal town on the shore of the Sea of Galilee to check into your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Set sail on a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee for a special time of worship on the water. Stand on the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount. At Tabgha, recall the miracle of the Feeding of the 5,000. Continue to Capernaum, the center of Jesus' ministry in the Galilee. Visit the synagogue that stands on the site where Jesus taught. Enjoy a St. Peter’s Fish Lunch (included) before traveling north to Caesarea Philippi where Jesus traveled with His disciples and where nearby Peter made his great confession to Jesus, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God".

Start the day in Beit Shean, a city continuously inhabited for over 5,000 years. The uncovered ruins date back to the Greek / Roman city that was part of the Decapolis of Jesus' day. See colonnaded streets with marble sidewalks, Roman public baths, and a theater. Travel through the Jordan River Valley, the route often taken by Jesus and other Galileans as they traveled to and from Jerusalem. Stop at Qumran, site of the Dead Sea Scrolls discovery, to learn about the mysterious community of the Essenes who once lived on the shores of the Dead Sea. Parallel the ancient Roman road as you pass through the Judean Wilderness to view the Valley of the Shadow. Arrive in Jerusalem and take in a panoramic view of the city before checking into your hotel.

Explore Masada, the remarkable mountaintop fortress of Herod the Great. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous at the last stronghold of the Jewish Rebellion against the Romans. Take the cable car to the top and peer down at the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below. This afternoon you'’ll go the lowest spot on earth and get the chance to float in the renowned salt and mineral-laden waters of the Dead Sea.

In Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, look out over the Shepherds’ Field where the angels proclaimed “"good tidings of great joy!"”. Back in Jerusalem, take in a view of the Old City from the Mount of Olives, where Jesus ascended to heaven 40 days after the resurrection. Walk down the Palm Sunday Path, stopping at the Chapel of the Ascension as you make your way to the Garden of Gethsemane. Visit the Israel Museum to see a scale model of 1st Century Jerusalem and the Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed.

This morning, stand on the Temple Mount (conditions permitting) where the Jewish Temple once stood and the Dome of the Rock now sits. Stand on the steps of the Pool of Siloam, where Jesus healed a blind man. On Mount Zion, enter the House of the High Priest Caiaphas, where it is believed Jesus was held prior to the crucifixion. Pray alongside the Jewish faithful at the Western Wall, then step back in time in the Western Wall Tunnels, which still have stonework from the 2nd Temple! Finish the day at Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial, where poignant exhibits honor the millions of lives lost.

Walk through the Old City and enjoy the preserved, ancient culture found in the narrow streets as well as the modernized Cardo in the Jewish Quarter. Continue your Old City Tour and see portions of the Via Dolorosa which ends at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Finally, gather at the Garden Tomb to remember the agony of the crucifixion. Share in communion together then celebrate the glory of the empty tomb and the resurrection!
