Welcome to the Holy Land! Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and a good night’s rest.
Day 3 - The Galilee
Stand on the Mount of Beatitudes overlooking Lake Kinneret and recall the Sermon on the Mount. Explore Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee. Stand in the ruins of the synagogue built on the remains of the one where Jesus taught. Visit Tabgha, the site commemorating the multiplication of loaves and fish. Next to this is the site of Peter’s Primacy, where Peter was asked 3 times “Do you love me?” by the Lord after His resurrection. Sail across the Sea of Galilee together for a special time of worship on the water. Enjoy a St. Peter’s Fish Lunch (included) then gather at the River Jordan, where you can remember or renew your baptism.
Day 4 - Chorazim, Tel Dan, Caesarea Philippi, Golan Heights
Today experience the northern regions of Israel. Drive north to Tel Dan, one of ancient Israel’s boundary markers - “From Dan to Beersheba,” and journey to Caesarea Philippi, where Peter proclaimed that Jesus was the Messiah. Travel through the Golan Heights and better understand their strategic importance to the security of Israel.
Day 5 - From the Galilee to Jerusalem
In Cana, recall the first miracle of Jesus at the Wedding Feast where Jesus turned water into wine. Stand on the Mount of Precipice to view Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus. Stand atop Mount Carmel, where Elijah defeated the prophets of Ba’al, which overlooks the Jezreel Valley. Make your way to Caesarea Maritima, the port city of Herod the Great on the shores of the Mediterranean. Explore the extensive ruins including the Roman aqueduct and theater. It was here that Paul was imprisoned before being taken to Rome for trial. Continue to the capital city of Israel - Jerusalem - where you will enjoy a wonderful view of the city before checking into your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 - Intro to Jerusalem
Today, you will be introduced to the Golden City of Jerusalem! Start the day on the Mount of Olives for a worship service, where you can take in a remarkable view of the city. Enter the Garden of Gethsemane where you can pray among the olive trees as Jesus did, the night He was betrayed with a kiss. On Mount Zion, beneath the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, you can walk through some of the ancient rooms of the house belonging to Caiaphas the High Priest. Many believe that Jesus was held overnight here before His crucifixion. Enter the nearby Upper Room in remembrance of the Last Supper.
Day 7 - Jerusalem
Visit the Southern Wall Excavations, including the Hulda Steps and the many Mikvahs at the foot of the steps. Walk a portion of the Via Dolorosa (the Way of Suffering) and recall how Jesus carried the cross for humanity to Calvary. Maneuver through the streets of the Old City and enter the Jewish Quarter of the Old City via the Zion’s Gate. Visit new shops built into the 2,000 year old remains of the former shops that had lined this street. Explore the Herodian Area. See the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus healed a man on the Sabbath. Enter the Church of St. Anne where you can lift your voice in praise in it’s wonderfully acoustic sanctuary. See the Ecce Homo Arch which is associated with the condemnation of Jesus by Pilate. Pray alongside the Jewish faithful at the Western Wall. Also known to many as the “Wailing Wall” this section of Herod’s Temple Mount retaining wall is adjacent to the former Holy of Holies.
Day 8 - Masada & the Dead Sea
Travel south to Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress of Herod the Great, which is famous as the last stronghold of the Jewish Rebellion against the Romans. Take the cable car to the top and peer down at the Roman camps and siege ramp below. Next, visit the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea, where you can float in the renowned salt & mineral-laden waters.
Day 9 - Jerusalem
This will be a day of contrasts and reflection. Visit Yad Vashem (the Holocaust Museum) to remember the victims of Hitler’s reign of terror with the purpose of never allowing this to happen, again. Reflect on the agony of the crucifixion at Gordon’s Calvary and then celebrate the glory of the resurrection at the Garden Tomb, where you’ll be able to share a special communion service with one another. After dinner, transfer to the airport for the journey home.
Day 10 - Return
Return home with a transformed faith and memories to last a lifetime!
