Day 1 - Depart USA
Embark on the trip of a lifetime today with Pastor Evan Burrows.
Day 2 - Arrive Tel Aviv | Dinner & Overnight
You’ll be greeted by our friendly NTS representative upon completion of passport control in Tel Aviv. Transfer to your Tiberias hotel for dinner and a good night’s rest!
Day 3 - Galilee | Mt. of Beatitudes | Boat Ride | Fish Lunch | Ancient Boat | Capernaum | Magdala
Explore the wonders of the Sea of Galilee today. Visit the peaceful Mount of Beatitudes that overlooks the Sea of Galilee. On this hill, Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5‐7). Enjoy a beautiful boat ride across the Sea of Galilee followed by a St. Peter's Fish lunch. At Kibbutz Nof Ginosor, you’ll learn about the “Ancient Boat”, a rare example of the kind of boat Jesus would have sailed in. Travel to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee. Stand in the ruins of the synagogue built on the remains of the one where Jesus taught (Matt 4). Walk the recent excavations of the town of Magdala, connected with Mary Magdalene. Return to your hotel for a delicious buffet dinner and overnight.
Day 4 - Chorazim | Caesarea Philippi | Tel Dan | Nimrod’s Fortress | Golan Heights – Mt. Bental
Start your day today by walking the streets of Chorazim, listed as a “city of woe” by Jesus in Matthew 11. Continue north to Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus traveled with His disciples and where nearby Peter proclaimed “You are the Christ” in Matthew 16. Continue to one of the ancient boundary markers of Israel, Tel Dan, and view Abraham’s Gate and the alter King Jeroboam built in the north. (1 Kings 12) Visit Nimrod’s Fortress that graces the slopes of Israel’s highest mountain, Mt. Hermon. The fortress overlooks the forested dales and magnificent landscape of the area. Continue on to the Golan Heights and the top of Mt. Bental. Gain a greater understanding for the strategic importance of this region to the security of Israel. Return to your hotel for another delicious buffet dinner and overnight.
Day 5 - Caesarea Maritima | Tel Megiddo | Nazareth – Mt. Precipice | Yardenit Baptism Site
After our delicious buffet breakfast, we will travel to Caesarea by the Sea on the Mediterranean coastline. It was here that Cornelius the Centurion and his household were saved and baptized (Acts 10), and it was also where Paul made his defense before Festus and King Agrippa prior to his final journey to Rome (Acts 25 & 26). View the heights of Mount Carmel, where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18). Visit Tel Megiddo, where twenty different cities lie superimposed upon each other. Visit Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus (Luke 2), from the top of Mt. Precipice. It was here that an angry crowd from the synagogue attempted to throw Jesus off a cliff (Luke 4). Remember your baptism at the Yardenit Baptismal site, where the Jordan River exits the Sea of Galilee on its journey southward (Matthew 3). Return to your Tiberias hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 - Beit Shean | Jordan Valley | Jericho | Qumran | Jerusalem Overlook
Say goodbye to the Galilee region today as you head south along the Jordan River Valley – the same route Jesus would have taken when travelling from Galilee to Jerusalem. Explore the massive excavations at Beit Shean, a city continuously inhabited for over 5,000 years, including when the Philistines hung the bodies of King Saul and his sons from its walls (1 Sam 31). Later known as Scythopolis, the ruins of this once‐opulent Roman city still impress visitors with its city streets, marble sidewalks, Roman public baths, and theater. In Jericho, visit the ruins of the ancient city that was conquered by Joshua (Josh 6). From Jericho, in the distance you can see the traditional site of the temptation of Jesus (Matt 4). Travel to Qumran, site of the Dead Sea Scroll discovery, to learn about the mysterious community of the Essenes who once lived on the shores of the Dead Sea. Ascend to Jerusalem and overlook the Holy City from the top of Mt. Scopus before heading to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 - Mt. of Olives | Palm Sunday Road | Garden of Gethsemane | Bethlehem | Shepherd’s Fields
Stand on the Mount of Olives as Jesus did and enjoy a remarkable view of the "Golden City" of Jerusalem. Forty days after His resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven from the Mount of Olives. Walk down the Palm Sunday Road and take some time to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane, as Jesus did after the Last Supper and before He was arrested (Matt. 26). Cross the border into Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus (Luke 2). Visit Bethlehem, where the cave revered as Jesus' birthplace resides in the world's oldest functioning church, the Church of the Nativity (Matt. 1). Look out on the Shepherds’ Fields, where angels spread the Good News. Continue on to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 - Cardo | City of David | Davidson Center | Western Wall | Teaching Steps | Israel Museum | Model City | Shrine of the Book
Walk through the Old City and enjoy the preserved, ancient culture found in the narrow streets as well as the modernized Cardo in the Jewish Quarter. Wander through the excavations of the City of David. Walk the steps of the Pools of Siloam, recently uncovered at the foot of the city. Enjoy the opportunity to say a prayer at the Western Wall and visit the Davidson Center where the Southern Wall Excavations of the ancient temple including the Teaching Steps are. Enjoy a visit to the Israel Museum where you will see the first century Model City of Jerusalem and Shrine of the Book – where artifacts like the entire book of Isaiah, found among the Dead Sea Scrolls are on display. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 9 - Mt. Zion | Caiaphas’ House | Upper Room | Via Dolorosa | Pool of Bethesda | Church of St. Anne | Gordon’s Calvary | Garden Tomb | Transfer to Airport for Return to the USA
Visit Mt. Zion, where you’ll have the opportunity to stand in the Upper Room revered as the place of the Last Supper (Mark 14). Cross the street to the House of Caiaphas, where some say Jesus was questioned on the night of His betrayal. Walk the Via Dolorosa (the Way of the Cross) and view the Pool of Bethesda (John 5) where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle. Sing a hymn in the Church of St. Anne, renowned for its beautiful acoustics. Your tour culminates at Gordon’s Calvary and the Garden Tomb. You will have the opportunity for communion together as you celebrate the glory of the Lord’s Resurrection. Prepare for your journey home with the life long memories created during your tour.
Day 10 - Return to USA
