Day 2 - Tuesday – Oct 29, 2019
Today you will arrive in Tel Aviv. Your tour guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your deluxe hotel in Jerusalem, where you’ll enjoy a fantastic dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - Wednesday – Oct 30, 2019
Today’s touring begins by standing on the Temple Mount, which was once the site of the Temple of Solomon, now home to the Dome of the Rock. View the Pool of Bethesda (John 5) where Jesus performed the Sabbath day miracle. Continue on to Mt. Zion to visit the Upper Room, where some say the Church was birthed (Acts 2). Also, you have the opportunity to view the traditional site of the Tomb of King David. Our final stop today will be the First Century Model City of Jerusalem, now housed at the Israel Museum. The museum itself contains 10,000 yrs of archeological artifacts, as well as the Shrine of the Book exhibit that displays pieces of the Dead Sea Scroll containing the book of Isaiah. Returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 - Thursday – Oct 31, 2019
Walk through Jaffa Gate and into the Old City of Jerusalem. View the shops and Middle Eastern way of life that is embedded in this fascinating city. Explore the poignant exhibits of Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial. Re-enter the city through the Southern Dung Gate and pray at the Western Wall. Enjoy your lunch before heading on to the see the archaeological study being done at Emek Tzurim, where excavations from under the Temple Mount are being studied.
Day 5 - Nov. 1, 2019
Today you will stand on the Mt. of Olives, where you will have a remarkable view of the “Golden City” of Jerusalem. This is the last place Jesus stood before ascending into heaven. Take a moment to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane, where trees have been dated back over 2000 years. Consider the idea that those trees witnessed the blood-sweat and betrayal of our Lord. Pause at the Crusader Church that is thought to mark the Tomb of Mary at the base of the Mt. of Olives. End your day of touring by spending time at the Garden Tomb and Gordon’s Calvary. Consider the pain and suffering of the cross with Holy Communion at this traditional site.
Day 6 - Saturday – Nov. 2, 2019
Visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem, enjoying lunch in one of their lovely restaurants. After lunch, reflect on Christ’s sacrificial love during your visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Built over the traditional sites of the crucifixion and burial of Jesus, the church operates under both Catholic and Orthodox supervision. Visit the Christ Church Museum exploring the history and impact of the Protestant movement in the Holy Land, then wander through the excavations of the City of David and journey through time to see the Pool of Siloam. Day 7 - Sunday – Nov. 3, 2019
Begin your journey towards Tiberius today. First stop will be a visit to the Balm of Gilead farm – enjoying the aroma and wonder of the incredible Balm of Gilead. Have a quick visit at the lowest point on earth - the Dead Sea - and feel the mineral laden waters. Stop in Jericho where the ruins of the city conquered by Joshua (Joshua 6) are located. In the distance see the traditional site of the temptation of Jesus (Matt 4). Follow the Jordan River Valley on your journey north. Remember your baptism at the Yardenit Baptismal site, where the Jordan River exits the Sea of Galilee before checking in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 - Monday – Nov. 4, 2019
Travel to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee. Visit the synagogue that stands on the site where Jesus taught. Visit the peaceful Mt. of Beatitudes that overlooks the Sea of Galilee. On this hill, Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. (Matt 5-7) Enjoy a “St Peters Fish Lunch” before boarding your boat for a unique time of worship and reflection on the Sea of Galilee. Enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, reflecting on the amazing events that happened on this lake. Finish your day of touring today by visiting the Ancient Boat Museum, where you will see a boat that dates back to the time of Jesus.
Day 9 - Tuesday – Nov. 5, 2019
Visit the Northern territory of Israel today, seeing the ancient remains of Tel Dan and the altar built by King Jeroboam (I Kings 12) Visit Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus traveled with his disciples and where nearby Peter made his great confession to Jesus, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matt 16). Travel through Golan Heights and gain a better understanding of their strategic importance to the security of Israel.
Day 10 - Wednesday – Nov. 6, 2019
Today you will journey to the top of Mt. Carmel, where Elijah the prophet prayed fire down from heaven and defeated the prophets of Baal (I Kings 18). Travel the ancient caravan route to Tel Megiddo, an exciting archeological dig with its layers of 20 different cities built on top of each other. Next stop will be Caesarea Maritima. Here you will wander through the Roman aqueduct and theater, a center of early Christianity. Here, Cornelius became the first Gentile convert to the new covenant (Acts 10) and Paul was imprisoned before being taken to Rome (Acts 23). Drive through Biblical Joppa, now the port city of Jaffa. Enjoy dinner and airport transfer to the Tel Aviv Airport for your flight home.
Day 11 - Thursday – Nov. 7, 2019
Begin your journey home from Tel Aviv to the USA with a deeper understanding of the Holy Land and memories to cherish for a lifetime.
