Daily Itinerary

Day 1 - Depart USA

Depart the USA for Tel Aviv, Israel. Meals are served in flight.

Day 2 - Arrive Tel Aviv

Arrive at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv and transfer to your hotel for check-in, dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 3 - Caesarea Maritima, Megiddo, Nazareth Precipice, Tiberias, Jordan River (Baptismal Service)

Drive up the Mediterranean Coastline to the ancient ruins of Caesarea Maritima. Wander through the Roman aqueduct and theater at Caesarea, a center of early Christianity. This is where Cornelius became the first Gentile convert to the new covenant (Acts 10) and Paul was imprisoned before being taken to Rome for trial (Acts 23). Travel the ancient caravan route to Tel Megiddo, where 20 different cities lie superimposed upon each other. Enjoy a special Tree Planting in Israel before our final stop in the city of Nazareth. View the city from the vantage point of the Mount of Precipice, where an angry mob attempted to throw Jesus off a cliff (Luke 4). Finally, stop at Yardenit and finish the day at the River Jordan for a time of spiritual blessing when you can remember or renew your baptism. After a full day of sightseeing, arrive in Tiberias for check in to our hotel, dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 4 - Boat Ride, Ancient Boat, Mt. of Beatitudes, Fish Lunch, Capernaum

Open the day with a beautiful boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Stop at Nof Ginosar, a kibbutz which houses the remains of a 2,000 year old boat that was found on the shoreline of the lake in the late 1980s. Stand on the peaceful Mount of Beatitudes that gives a visual impact of what Matthew 5-7 could have looked like 2,000 years ago. Explore Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry. Visit the synagogue on the site where Jesus taught (Matt. 4).

Day 5 - Beit Shean, Jordan Valley, Masada, Dead Sea

We leave the Galilee and make our way south along the Jordan - Israel border. Explore the massive excavations at Beit Shean, a city continuously inhabited for over 5,000 years, including when the Philistines hung the bodies of King Saul and his sons from its walls (1 Sam. 31). Travel south through the Jordan River Valley, the route often taken by Jesus and other Galileans as they traveled to and from Jerusalem. Enjoy a visit to historic Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress built by Herod that later became the final tragic stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans. Ride the cable car to the top to explore the fortress and look down upon the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below. Stop at the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth, for an opportunity to take a quick dip in the mineral-laden waters.

Day 6 - Judean Wilderness, Mt. of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Model City - Shrine of the Book, Friends of Zion Museum Teaching Steps

We leave the Dead Sea this morning and journey through the Judean Wilderness to the eternal city of Jerusalem, capital of Israel. Stand on the Mount of Olives as Jesus did and enjoy a remarkable view of the "Golden City" of Jerusalem. Forty days after His resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven from the Mount of Olives (Acts 1). Enter the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus went to pray after the Last Supper and was arrested (Matt. 26). Learn about the Jerusalem of Jesus’ day with a look at the First Century Model of the City of Jerusalem, now housed at the Israel Museum. The museum itself contains 10,000 years of archeological artifacts, as well as the Shrine of the Book exhibit that displays the Dead Sea Scroll containing the book of Isaiah. Afterwards, there will be a special event at the Friends of Zion Museum, which celebrates the partnerships of Christians and Jews who supported the dream of a Jewish homeland.

Day 7 - Tree Planting, Yad Vashem, Bomb Shelter

Enjoy a special Tree Planting in Israel and then visit Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial, with its poignant exhibits honoring the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust. During the course of this day, we plan to show you one of the Bomb Shelters that was constructed and given to the nation of Israel through the Jerusalem Prayer Team Ministry.

Day 8 - Caiaphas’ House, Old City Tour, Pool of Bethesda

Beneath the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, you can walk through some of the ancient rooms of the house belonging to Caiaphas the High Priest. Many believe that Jesus was held overnight here before His crucifixion (Luke 22). Walk through the Old City and enjoy the preserved, ancient culture found in the narrow streets as well as the modernized Cardo in the Jewish Quarter. View the Pool of Bethesda (John 5) where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle. Visit Herod’s Antonia Fortress where Jesus was brought before Pontius Pilate (Luke 23).

Day 9 - Western Wall, Teaching Steps, Davidson Center - Southern

This morning we can pray at the iconic Western Wall alongside the Jewish faithful. Visit the Davidson Center and the Southern Wall Excavations including the Teaching Steps. This afternoon, have time to enjoy Jerusalem on your own.

Day 10 - Emmaus, Samuel’s Tomb, Gordon’s Calvary, Garden Tomb

We travel through the Judean Hills to Emmaus where the Lord walked with the two disciples after His resurrection. Return to Jerusalem and stop at the prophet Samuel’s Tomb, site of many Old Testament events. Take time to reflect on the agony of the cross at Gordon’s Calvary and the glory of the resurrection at the Garden Tomb. After a final dinner in Israel, prepare for departure back to the USA.

Day 11 - Arrive USA

Return home with a transformed faith and memories to last a lifetime!
