Your journey begins when you depart the USA on your overnight international flight.
Day 2 - ARRIVAL
Welcome to the land of Israel! Upon arrival at the Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your Netanya area hotel for dinner and a good night’s rest.
Day 3 - FROM SEA TO SEA
Start your morning on the coast of the Mediterranean, to explore the ruins of Caesarea Maritima. This port city of Herod the Great contains extensive ruins including a theater and Roman aqueduct. Stand on Mount Carmel, where Elijah defeated the prophets of ba’al. At Megiddo, a site where 20 cities lie superimposed on one another, look out over the Plains of Armageddon. Look out over Nazareth from the Mount of Precipice, and pass through Cana, where Jesus turned water into wine. Check in to your Galilee area hotel.
Day 4 - JESUS IN THE GALILEE
Travel north through the strategic Golan Heights region, to Caesarea Philippi, where Peter proclaimed, “You are the Christ!” Share in a special time of worship on the water, as you sail across the Sea of Galilee. Explore Capernaum, including the synagogue built over the one in which Jesus ministered. Stand on the Mount of Beatitudes and recall what it really means to be blessed. At Tabgha, enter the Church of Loaves & Fishes as you recall the Miracle of the Feeding of the 5,000. Also stand on the shore at the nearby Chapel of Peter’s Primacy where Jesus charged Peter, “If you love me, then feed my sheep.”
Day 5 - SOUTH ALONG THE JORDAN
Gather together at the River Jordan, where you can remember or renew your baptism. Visit Beit She’an, one of the cities of the Decapolis in Jesus’ day. Continue south through the Jordan Valley to Qumran, site of the Dead Sea Scroll discovery. Then, take the opportunity to float in the renowned salt and mineral-laden waters of the Dead Sea, before checking in to your area hotel.
Day 6 - SOUTHERN WILDERNESS & RUINS
Explore Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress of Herod the Great, famous as the final stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans. Take a cable car to the top and look down at the Roman camps and siege ramp below. Visit Beersheba, the southernmost city of the Israelite territories in Biblical times. It was here that Abraham made a pact with Abimelech, and that his son Isaac later built an altar. Visit Beit Shemesh, which sits atop a hill and is where the Ark was returned to the Israelites by the Philistines. Stand in the Valley of Elah, where a young, brave David defeated Goliath with a slingshot. Visit Emmaus where Jesus appeared to two travelers on the evening of the resurrection. Continue to Jerusalem for dinner & overnight.
Day 7 - JERUSALEM + LIGHT SHOW
Start your time in Jerusalem at the Israel Museum, where you can see a 1st Century Model City for a great overview of the city during the time of Christ. Spend time at the “Ministry to Israel Center” this afternoon. After dinner, experience the Tower of David Night Spectacular, an immersive sound and light show projected onto the walls of the Old City.
Day 8 - BETHLEHEM & JERUSALEM
Visit Bethlehem, and look out over the Shepherds’ Fields where the angels proclaimed “good tidings of great joy” announcing the birth of the Messiah. Back in Jerusalem, stand atop the Mount of Olives, where Jesus ascended to heaven 40 days after the resurrection. Pray in the Garden of Gethsemane among the olive trees, where Jesus prayed the night He was betrayed with a kiss. On Mount Zion, enter the House of the High Priest Caiaphas, where it is believed Jesus was held prior to the crucifixion. Step into the Upper Room, and recall the Last Supper.
Day 9 - FIRST DAY IN JERUSALEM
Pray alongside the Jewish faithful at the Western (Wailing) Wall and then visit the nearby Southern Wall Excavations & Davidson Center. Walk through the Old City and enjoy the preserved, ancient culture found in the narrow streets as well as the modernized Cardo in the Jewish Quarter. See the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus healed a man on the Sabbath. Enter the Church of St. Anne to lift your voice in song in its wonderfully acoustic sanctuary. See the pavement from the Antonia Fortress in the basement of the Sisters of Zion Church. Here “games” Roman soldiers played are carved into the stone. From here, continue on the Via Dolorosa (Way of Suffering) to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Day 10 - SECOND DAY IN JERUSALEM
This morning visit Yad Vashem, to remember and honor the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust. At the Garden Tomb, reflect on the agony of the crucifixion, but then share in a time of communion and celebrate the glory of the resurrection!
Day 11 - RETURN
Return home with a transformed faith and memories to last a lifetime!
