Day 2 - June 9 – ARRIVAL
Welcome to Israel! Upon arrival in Tel Aviv you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Nazareth for dinner and a good night’s rest.
Day 3 - June 10 – CAESAREA MARITIMA / MEGIDDO / CAESAREA PHILIPPI / NAZARETH (MT. PRECIPICE)
Journey to Caesarea by the Sea and stand in the place where it is believed Paul addressed King Agrippa and Festus. This port city reveals many extensive remains of the theater and other sites, including a Roman aqueduct along the Mediterranean shore.Travel the ancient caravan route to Tel Megiddo, an exciting archaeological dig with its layers of twenty different cities built on top of each other. Visit Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus traveled with His disciples and where nearby Peter made his great confession to Jesus, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”. View Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus from the Mount of Precipice, where Luke describes how Jesus was rejected by those in the synagogue after He taught them. Filled with anger,they “led Him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast Him down headlong.”
Day 4 - June 11 – CAPERNAUM, MT. OF BEATITUDES, BOAT RIDE, YARDENIT JORDAN RIVER BAPTISMAL SITE
After enjoying the Israeli buffet breakfast, spend most of your day around the Sea of Galilee. Enter the 2,000 year old remains of Capernaum and stand in what is left of the synagogue in which the Lord ministered. Visit the traditional site where Yeshua preached His Sermon on the Mount, the Mount of Beatitudes. Look over Kursi, where Jesus cast out evil spirits from a demon possessed man and sent them into a group of swine. Enjoy a beautiful boat ride across the Sea of Galilee. Finally, gather at the Jordan River for a time of spiritual blessing.
Day 5 - June 12 – BEIT SHEAN, JORDAN VALLEY, QUMRAN, SAMUEL’S MOUNTAIN, JERUSALEM
Stop at the ancient Roman city of Beit Shean where the bodies of King Saul and his sons were hung following a battle and their deaths.Travel through the Jordan River Valley, the route often taken by Jesus and other Galileans as they traveled to and from Jerusalem.Walk the remains of an ancient community near the shores of the Dead Sea at Qumran. Visit Samuel’s Mountain.Transfer to Jerusalem for overnight.
Day 6 - June 13 – MT. OF OLIVES / CRUCIFIXION SITE / PATER NOSTER CHURCH / GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE / BETHLEHEM (SHEPHERDS’ FIELD) / POOL OF BETHESDA.
Stand on the Mount of Olives for a remarkable view of the“Golden City” of Jerusalem, and consider that this is the final place Jesus stood before ascending into heaven forty days after His resurrection. Visit the Church of Pater Noster, where the Lord’s prayer can be read in 62 different languages. Pray as Jesus did inthe Garden of Gethsemane among the olive trees in the Kidron Valley, just across from the walls of Jerusalem. Visit Bethlehem, the place of Jesus’ birth. Nearby, you will view Shepherds’ Field where the Good News was first heard. View the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-31) where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle. Visit Herod’s Antonia Fortress where Jesus was brought before Pontius Pilate.
Day 7 - June 14 – MASADA, EIN GEDI, DEAD SEA
Enjoy a visit to intriguing Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress built by Herod that later became the final tragic stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans. Ride the cable car to the top to explore the fortress and look down upon the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below. Visit Ein Gedi, where David sought refuge from Saul. On the way back to Jerusalem, stop at the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth, for an opportunity to take a quick dip in the mineral-laden waters.
Day 8 - June 15 – YAD VASHEM, WESTERN WALL, OLD CITY TOUR, CITY OF DAVID, CARDO, SOUTHERN STEPS, POOL OF SILOAM
Walk the museum and grounds of Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial, with its poignant exhibits honoring the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust. Say a prayer at the Western Wall. Walk through the Old City and enjoy the preserved, ancient culture found in the narrow streets. Wander through the excavations of the City of David. Continue your journey through the Old City to the Cardo. This ancient marketplace has ruins that date back to the Judean monarchy mingled with modern shops. Visit the Davidson Center and the Southern Wall Excavations including theTeaching Steps and the Western Wall. Stand on the steps of the Pool of Siloam, where Jesus healed the blind man.
Day 9 - June 16 – VALLEY OF ELAH, JOPPA OLD CITY
Today journey through the Valley of Elah, where David defeated Goliath. Drive through Biblical Joppa, now the port city of Jaffa.
