Daily Itinerary

Day 1 - Tuesday, Nov. 29 – DEPARTURE

Your journey begins when you depart the USA on your overnight international flight.

Day 2 - Wednesday, Nov. 30 – ARRIVAL

Welcome to the Holy Land! On arrival at the Tel Aviv airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel for dinner & a good night’s rest.

Day 3 - Thursday, Dec. 1 – FROM SEA TO SEA

Check out of our hotel and travel up the Mediterranean Coastline, arriving at Caesarea Maritima, the port city of Herod the Great. Explore the extensive ruins, including the theater and aqueduct. It was here that Cornelius became the first Gentile convert to the New Covenant, and Paul was imprisoned before being taken to Rome for trial. Continue to Mount Carmel, where Elijah defeated the prophets of Ba’al. When we arrive at Nazareth, we can visit Nazareth Village, an incredible recreation of life as it was in this community when Jesus and His family lived here. We will also stop at Mount Precipice, where the residents attempted to throw Jesus off a cliff after delivering His message in the local synagogue. Arriving at the Sea of Galilee, we will visit the first-century ruins of Magdala, the hometown of Mary of Magdala. We will arrive in Tiberias, where we can check into our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 - Friday, Dec. 2 – JESUS IN THE GALILEE

Today, experience the Galilee as Jesus knew it. Stand on the Mount of Beatitudes and recall the Sermon on the Mount. Explore Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee, including the synagogue built over the one in which Jesus taught. After our fish lunch, arrive at St. Peter’s Primacy, the traditional site where Jesus asked Peter three times after His resurrection if he loved Him. Share in a special time of worship on the water as you sail across the Sea of Galilee on a memorable boat ride. Arrive at Nof Ginosar to see the Ancient Boat, what remains of a fishing boat from the time of Christ that was discovered in the 1980s on the shoreline of the Sea of Galilee.

Day 5 - Saturday, Dec. 3 – JERUSALEM

Bid the Galilee region farewell as you head down into the Jordan Valley. The first stop will be Beit Shean, the only one of the 10 cities of the Decapolis that was located on the west side of the Jordan River. Continue south to Ein Gedi, the strongholds used by David and his men to hide from King Saul and his army. We will drive north to Qumran, one of the locations of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls before spending time at Q-sar el Yahud, the baptismal site on the Jordan River to celebrate this life-changing event. From here, we turn west through the Judean Wilderness and arrive at Israel’s capital city of Jerusalem. We will take some time to view the city from Mount Scopus before checking into our hotel for dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 6 - Sunday, Dec. 4 – JERUSALEM & BETHLEHEM

This morning, visit Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus. Look out over the Shepherds’ Field, where the angels proclaimed good tidings of great joy. Return to Jerusalem and Mount Moriah. Enter the Rabbi’s Tunnel, where foundation stones for the Temple retaining wall constructed by Herod the Great can be seen, which weigh over 400 tons. Pray alongside the Jewish faithful at the Western Wall. Moving to the south side of the Temple Mount platform is the Southern Wall, revealing the 2,000-year-old Hulda Steps dating back to the time of Jesus. After a full day of sightseeing, return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 - Monday, Dec. 5 – JERUSALEM

Look out over the “Golden City” of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, where Jesus ascended to Heaven 40 days after the Resurrection. Walk down the Palm Sunday Path recalling the shouts of “Hosanna!” as you make your way to the Garden of Gethsemane. Pray among the olive trees as Jesus did the night He was betrayed by Judas with a kiss. On Mount Zion, enter the Upper Room in remembrance of the Last Supper and visit the traditional site of King David’s Tomb. Enter the House of the High Priest Caiaphas, where it is believed Jesus was held before the crucifixion. After a full day of sightseeing in Jerusalem, return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 - Tuesday, Dec. 6 – FREE DAY

Enjoy a free day on your own to enjoy Jerusalem. Various optional activities will be suggested by your leaders to make your time in Israel a truly personalized experience.

Day 9 - Wednesday, Dec. 7 - JERUSALEM, PREPARE FOR THE JOURNEY HOME

As part of our final day in Jerusalem, view the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle and sing in the Church of St. Anne. We can experience some of the Old City with a walk through the Via Dolorosa, including the Sister’s of Zion Church. This is the location of the Antonia Fortress and possible location of the trial of Jesus prior to the crucifixion. The games of the Roman soldiers are still etched in its stone floor. Finally, reflect on the agony of Christ’s crucifixion at Gordon’s Calvary and the exhilaration and reality of the resurrection at the Garden Tomb! After your final dinner in Israel, prepare for departure to the USA.

Day 10 - Thursday, Dec. 8 – RETURN

Return home with a transformed faith and memories to last a lifetime!
