Visit Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus traveled with His disciples and where Peter proclaimed, “You are the Christ” in Matthew 16. Continue to one of the ancient boundary markers of Israel, Tel Dan, and view Abraham’s Gate and the altar King Jeroboam built in the north. (1 Kings 12). Continue to the Golan Heights. Gain a greater understanding of the strategic importance of this region to the security of Israel. Visit the peaceful Mount of Beatitudes that overlooks the Sea of Galilee. Travel to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee. Stand in the ruins of the synagogue built on the remains of the one where Jesus taught (Matt 4). Visit the baptismal site at Yardenit, where the Jordan River exits the Sea of Galilee on its journey southward.

Day 4 - July 24 – Sea of Galilee, Nazareth, Valley of Megiddo, Mount Carmel, Tel Megiddo & Caesarea Maritima

Boat ride across the Sea of Galilee. Visit Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home, and look out over the Valley of Megiddo from Mount Precipice. Continue on your journey to Mount Carmel, where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal. Visit Tel Megiddo, where twenty different cities lie superimposed upon each other. Forty days after His resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven from the Mount of Olives. Walk down Palm Sunday Road to the Garden Gethsemane and take some time to contemplate the agony of our Lord, knowing what He would need to do beginning later that night. Enter Old City and touch a piece of King Herod’s Temple compound when you pray at the Western Wall. Walk through Old City and enjoy preserved ancient culture.
