Day 1 - June 3 – Depart the USA
Embark on your journey of a lifetime today. Meals served in flight.
Day 2 - June 4 – Arrive in the Holy Land
Arrive in Tel Aviv, Israel. After passing through passport control, you will be met by our friendly NTS representative. Collect your luggage and transfer to your Tiberias area hotel for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 - June 5 – Sea of Galilee | Mount of Beatitudes | Boat Ride | Fish Lunch | Peter’s Primacy/ Ancient Boat | Capernaum | Magdala
Explore the magnificent region of the Sea of Galilee today, the sites central to Jesus’ ministry. Visit the peaceful Mount Beatitudes, where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. Worship as you sail your way across the Sea of Galilee. Enjoy a traditional St. Peter’s fish lunch and then visit Kibbutz Nof Ginosar, where a boat from the time of Jesus is on display. Travel to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ Ministry, and stand in what is left of the synagogue in which our Lord ministered. Near the base of towering Mount Arbel, walk the recent excavations of the ancient city of Magdala. Return to your Tiberias area hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 - June 6 – Caesarea Maritima | Tel Megiddo | Mount Precipice | Yardenit Baptism Site
After our delicious buffet breakfast, we will travel to Caesarea by the Sea on the Mediterranean coastline. It was here that Cornelius the Centurion and his household were saved and baptized, and it was also where Paul made his defense before Festus and King Agrippa prior to his final journey to Rome. Travel the ancient caravan route to Tel Megiddo, an exciting archeological dig with layers of twenty different cities built on top of each other. Continue to Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home. and go to Mount Precipice which could have been the site where the locals attempted to throw Him off the cliff after the sermon was completed. At the Yardenit Baptismal site, situated where the Jordan River flows out of the Sea of Galilee on its way to the Dead Sea, enjoy the peace and tranquility of the natural surroundings and participate in a baptismal service in the river in which Christ was baptized by John the Baptist. Return to your Tiberias area hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 - June 7 – Chorazim | Caesarea Philippi | Tel Dan | Nimrod’s Fortress | Golan Heights
Today, your adventure takes you into the Northern Region of Israel. Walk the streets of Chorazim, listed as a “city of woe” by Jesus. Visit Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus traveled with his disciples and where Peter made his great confession to Jesus, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” You will also visit the ancient remains of Tel Dan and the altar built by King Jeroboam. Visit Nimrod’s Fortress, which graces the slopes of Israel’s highest mountain, Mount Hermon. Travel through the Golan Heights and better understand their strategic importance to the security of Israel. Return to your Tiberias area hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 - June 8 – Beit She’an | Jericho (drive by) | Dead Sea | Qumran | Jerusalem Overlook
Explore the massive excavations at Beit She’an, a city continuously inhabited for over 5,000 years, including when the Philistines hung King Saul's and his sons' bodies from its walls. Later known as Scythopolis, the ruins of this once-opulent Roman city still impresses visitors with its city streets, marble sidewalks, Roman public baths, and theater. View Jericho and see the ruins of the ancient city that Joshua conquered. In the distance, you can see the traditional site of the temptation of Jesus. Travel to Qumran, the site of the Dead Sea Scroll discovery, to learn about the mysterious community of the Essenes who once lived on the shores of the Dead Sea. You will have the opportunity to swim in the Dead Sea. Look out over the city of Jerusalem from Mount Scopus. Atop this strategic hill, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem stands where Roman Legions and Crusaders once camped. Check into your Jerusalem area hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 - June 9 – Mount of Olives | Palm Sunday Road | Garden of Gethsemane | Upper Room | House of Caiaphas |Shepherds’ Field
Stand on the Mount of Olives as Jesus did and enjoy a remarkable view of Jerusalem's “Golden City”. Forty days after His resurrection, Jesus ascended from the Mount of Olives into heaven. Walk down Palm Sunday Road and take time to pray as Jesus did among the olive trees in the Garden of Gethsemane. You will stand in the Upper Room, the traditional site of the Last Supper. Across the street is the House of Caiaphas, the High Priest. Look out on the Shepherds’ Field, where angels spread the Good News. Return to your Jerusalem area hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 - June 10 – City of David | Davidson Center | Southern Steps Western Wall | Israel Museum - Shrine of the Book
Wander through the excavations of the City of David. Walk the steps to the Pool of Siloam, recently uncovered at the foot of the city. Visit the Southern Wall Excavations of the ancient temple, including the Teaching Steps and the Western Wall. Visit The Israel Museum and the Shrine of the Book, where artifacts like the book of Isaiah, found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, are displayed. Return to your Jerusalem area hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 9 - June 11 – Via Dolorosa | Pool of Bethesda | Church of St. Anne’s | Cardo / Gordon’s Calvary | Communion at the Garden Tomb | Late Night Transfer
This morning, walk the Via Dolorosa, “the Way of the Cross,” and reflect on His sacrificial love. View the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle. Lift your voice in song in the acoustically beautiful Church of St. Anne. Walk through the Old City and enjoy the preserved, ancient culture found in the narrow streets, as well as the modernized Cardo in the Jewish Quarter. Your day culminates at Gordon’s Calvary and the Garden Tomb as you celebrate the glory of the Lord’s Resurrection with a communion service. Enjoy a final dinner before heading on to the airport for your return to the USA.
Day 10 - June 12 – Depart Tel Aviv | Arrive USA
Return to the USA with memories to last a lifetime.
