Dr. Jimmy Knott

Dr. Jimmy Knott is a native Tennessean. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Tennessee, and the M.Div. and D. Min. degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Jimmy and his wife, Linda, have three grown children and four grandchildren.

 

After being ordained in 1976, Jimmy served churches in Louisiana and Tennessee. From June 1980 until he retired in September 2020, Jimmy served at First Baptist Church of Orlando. Over the years, Jimmy served in several capacities: Singles and Married Adults, Minister of Education, Discipleship, Outreach, Member Assimilation, Leader Development, and Teaching Pastor.

 

Jimmy’s purpose in life is to serve others by igniting their growth using his gifts of teaching, leadership, and exhortation, with core values of truth, excellence, integrity, and responsibility. Jimmy has authored three books: Unwrapping God’s Gifts to You, It’s All About Leadership, and Lord, Teach Us to Pray.

 

In his leisure time, Jimmy enjoys walking, reading, golfing, and grandchildren.
